What is the Mac Down?

The Mac Down is a fun, one-day event where local chefs compete to see who makes the best vegan mac and cheese. Attendees sample each dish and vote for their favorites.

Is all the food vegan?

Yes! All mac and cheese dishes at the Mac Down are 100% vegan.

How does voting work?

When you arrive, you’ll receive a voting ballot. After tasting the mac and cheese from each chef, you’ll vote for your favorite. Winners are announced at the end of the event.

How many chefs will be competing?

Typically, around 6–10 local chefs participate, but the exact number may vary by city.

How long is the event?

Most Mac Down events last about 2 hours.

Do I need to buy tickets in advance?

Yes, tickets are sold in advance and tickets usually sell out. It is recommended to buy your tickets ASAP and you can even join our Ticket Waitlist.

What does my ticket include?

Your ticket includes samples from all participating chefs and a vote in the competition.

Can I bring friends or family?

Absolutely! The Mac Down is a great event for friends, families, and anyone who loves food.

Are kids allowed?

Yes, kids are welcome. Children under 5 are free to attend.

Are there gluten-free options?

Some chefs may offer gluten-free mac and cheese, but availability varies. Please reach out to organizers to ask about options.

What if I have food allergies?

All dishes are vegan, but may contain nuts, soy, gluten, or other allergens. Please reach out to organizers if you have allergies.

Will there be other vendors?

How do chefs get involved?
